Our key aim is to provide access to any actor in the world who'd like to participate and to create great entertainment for our viewers.

Participants submit a video of themselves performing a monologue, which is assessed by our judging panel. The best actors are selected to perform in our Regional Finals events. Scroll down to register and get access to free resources on our Member site.

When is WMG?
WMG is split into three phases: Qualifiers, Regional Finals and Global Finals.

Who will judge the event?
WMG works with experienced industry professionals from around the world: casting directors (including Emmy winning ones!), producers, agents, heads of schools, theatre and film experts, industry leaders etc.
We have a strong panel of judges but always welcome new blood – sign up below.

Q&A FOR PERFORMERS
We are not yet open for submissions for 2024. They are usually open around May of each year!
You can sign up and become a WMG Member at any time. This will get you 1x free entry into the Games each year. We'll advise all Members when entries are open.

Anyone anywhere in the world.
Everyone gets a free entry at World Monologue Games, but your free entry will expire if it hasn't been used before the main deadline.
If you miss the main deadline, or want to submit multiple entries, you can purchase an entry up which must be used before the late deadline. Entries cost:
- 1x for $7.95 USD
- 3x for $18.50 USD
- 5x for $23.95 USD
You can purchase entries from the Member shop. You will need a (free) Member account to access the shop.
During the Qualifiers, participants upload their videos to YouTube and submit their entry via our site. Our judges pick the best performances in each category to perform in our Regional Finals, with the best of the best heading to the Global Finals.
All registered actors are sent information on how to participate when entries open.
What are the categories?
World Monologue Games has categories based on monologue duration, pro/amateur status, and age. The categories are:
- Main Professional: 1 - 2½ mins
- Main Amateur: 1 - 2½ mins
- Endurance: 5 - 8 mins
- Sprint: 45 - 60 secs
- Youth: (12 - 17): 1 - 2½ mins
- Tigers: (5 - 11)*: 1 - 2½ mins
* Parental permission required for Youth and Tigers categories.
WMG is proud to be able to offer prizes to our winners. Our Podium Finishers (top 3) across all 6 categories will share a prize pool of cash.
Do we have to perform in English?
No. You can perform in any language you like. Non-English speakers do just as well in the competition as English speakers!
Up to you. You can choose whichever country you would like to represent. But you can't pick more than one country in any season.
No, it needs to be a new recording which has been made after the opening date of the competition. World Monologue Games is about the work you create for the event, not something you filmed in the past.
When are submissions due?
Submission deadlines and season dates can be found on our Timeline page when these dates have been announced.
Do the best you can. At a minimum, we need to be able to see and hear you clearly. While we won't be judging you based on the video quality, poor footage certainly won't help.

If you are under 12 at the time of the Late Deadline, you must enter the Tigers category.
If you are aged 12-17 at the time of the Late Deadline, you must enter the Youth category.
If you are 18 or over at the time of the Late Deadline, you must enter the adult categories.
Anything you want. You can write it or find it — up to you.
Note that you must get the author's permission before you submit, unless the work is out of copyright. If you want to use a monologue from a play, TV show, movie etc., you will have to contact the writer for permission – looking up their website or social media will often work. If you can't get permission, you unfortunately will need to find another piece. This is required by copyright law.
Our website has lots of monologues (short and long) you're welcome to use, and we have new material coming out all the time.
